A remarkable new genus of tiny wolf spiders was recently discovered in South Africa. Minicosa neptuna n. gen., n. sp. is described from male and female specimens from a number of localities in South Africa. The genus is characterized by the strongly procurved anterior eye row, the trilobed tooth on the inner margin of the chelicerae, the palpal conformation with completely hidden embolus on the unexpanded palp and the concave posterior part of the female abdomen. The affinities of this monospecific genus within the Lycosidae are discussed.
